Perusing the leaderboards and I couldn’t help but notice that Danny Santana’s batting average currently sits at .402! WIth only 1/3 of the season left, Santana is making a run at hitting .400. Of note, the current BLB single season record for batting average his shared by Miguel Cabrera (2014, Newcastle) and Ryan Braun (2012, Jackson Park) so even if he doesn’t hit .400, Santana has a good chance to set the all time mark this year.
Making it more incredible.. Santana is such a bad hitter (MLB 2015) that he was sent down awhile. I believe Morneau was also over/around 400 until a few weeks ago but is now slumping. As a team, Shiner has finally hit a cold spell offensively. It was a great run.
