Welcome to the new BLB website!

As you can see, things look a bit different from the old website.  The navigation bar at the top has the following items:

BLB teams – Broken down into submenus for Ale/Lager. Clicking on the links for BLB Teams, Ale League, and Lager League will lead to tables that act as an owner directory and have email addresses, links to the team pages, and current stadiums (as well as a spot for updated team career stats in the future).  On the BLB Teams homepage I’ve included a table at the bottom for the 10 open stadiums.

Transactions – Self explanatory, this was a copy/paste of all of our league’s transactions.

Draft Central – Current as well as historical draft information, including minors/prospect pick results, draft report cards, and links to the CBS auction site (this page is a work in progress).

BLB Rules – Self explanatory, though not updated for the current rule changes (yet).

BLB History – This section has submenus that include a page featuring all the BLB Champions (including links to the DLB Online playoff pages, where applicable), BLB Hall of Fame (haven’t forgotten about that, will revive it in the spring once I get the time to update our career stats), our season standings for 2008 – 2011, and an “about the BLB” page which will include a writeup of our league’s origin/history and any other info I feel like throwing on there to describe our league for potential new owners down the road.

In addition to the drop down menu structure (which I love), WordPress allows me to include a sidebar which I’ve for now populated with a list of popular baseball websites (feel free to include others you want linked to in the comments), list of archived posts, and a hit counter. There are other widgets I may play around with in the future as well for the sidebar.

Finally, the homepage itself is basically a blog format, which can be used to create posts (like this one) that can have media (pics/videos), polls, and can be commented on. I envision using this section of our site to create posts on various BLB and baseball topics in general to try to make this site more of an interactive hub for our league to have discussions on various BLB and MLB news. We’ll see how it goes.

So that’s the site! Check out your team pages and compare them to the rosters on the old site (linked to on the sidebar) to make sure I’ve copied your roster information correctly, and feel free to let me know if you’d like anything added/edited on the site at all and I’ll try to accommodate it!

EDIT – Note that you can follow the blog by clicking on the button at the bottom right of the page; you don’t need a wordpress account to do it, and by following the blog you’ll get email updates for new content!
