Who else is waiting on free agents to sign? What about hoping they don’t sign?

I’m waiting on a JAM starter (Gallardo $32 OPT)  and a CLUTCH outfield bat with B+ range and a -3 arm (Cespedes $33 OPT).

Would change draft day considerably for me if all of a sudden I had $65 more to spend.  Gallardo’s card not worth $32, but with the jam it’d be my third for the rotation which has never happened in my franchise before.  Cespedes still takes a dump versus lefties but makes up for it in the field.

Never forget.

  1. Not that it really mattered but M. Leak signed… he was my 1 worry.
Harren retired, so I lost a JAM there.
I had a few guys sign minor league deals which should work out for me… McKinney, Abad, Mujica… saves me some cash. Plus I believe Felix and Negron are free agents and I’d be better off without them signing.

  2. Heyward signing was big for me, he was my biggest free agent that I wanted to sign. I’m not really waiting for any other free agents either way. Rollins I believe is a free agent so if he doesn’t sign that’d save me a buck, ditto Steve Tolleson.

    • Just read an article about Buerhle in the STL Post-Dispatch today (he’s from St. Louis). He said he won’t pitch at least to start 2016 but won’t retire. I think he’s hoping the Cards will give him a ring, but I’d say it doesn’t look likely…unless the injury bug bites again. Me, waiting on Justin Upton. Wouldn’t be a big deal to take the $28 he’d free up back into the draft, but the draft is not that deep with great bats.

  3. Yes, spends a little over 10% of my salary. Too bad he doesn’t hit lefties. Still for my purposes I’ll be scooping up that option. With Jones and Pence (until he gets hurt) I’ll have -6 arms in my starting OF with another -1 with A range in late game replacement and overpaid Sam Fuld.

  4. Woodbury hoping that David Lough and Tommy Hunter do not sign before February 1st. Neither on a huge contract, Lough $7 3/3 and Hunter $3 3/3, but $10 freed up is better than $4 so I guess I will keep my eyes open for the next week or so.
